STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO A COMPLETE PAMPERING FACIAL STEAM HOME SPA TREATMENT.

With everything happening self care has been an important part of my new daily routine. This basically means I have taken steps to care for myself outside of my basic needs like sleep , food and hygiene.

Once a week I have been treating myself to a budget friendly at home steam facial.Face steaming is not just relaxing its incredible for your skin.

BENEFITS OF FACIAL STEAMING.

  1. Facial steaming helps keep blemishes at bay. Steam softens pores and makes it easier to cleanse the pores , by preventing blackheads and whiteheads from clogging pores.
  2. Steaming can fight dullness and wrinkles by increasing circulation.
  3. You release toxins from your skin through steaming. While steaming your face you produce more sweat than usual. Sweating helps toxins to be released through pores.
  4. Increases skin permeability which makes it possible foe skincare products to fully penetrate your skin.

Chamomile X Orange peels

  • Apart from its aromatherapy calming effect ,Chamomile is perfect for sensitive , reactive skin. Its anti-inflammatory calms the skin down. It also disinfects your skin thanks to its antibacterial properties .
  • The citric acid in the orange peels helps to cleanse and brighten the skin. The citric scent helps to rejuvenate you. It is known to be very good in relaxing the mind , beating stress and reliving mild aches and pains

How to steam your face?

  1. Start with fresh ,clean face . Cleanse the face and use a mild exfoliating scrub to remove makeup , dirt and skin build up.
  2. Prep the steam bath. Bring water to boil and then steep your herbs (in my case the chamomile tea and orange peels) for a minute before transferring it to a bowl and letting it cool.
  3. Steam. Drape a towel over your head and shoulder to create a steam tent for 5- 10 minutes and no longer. Inhale and exhale slowly.
  4. Tone. Use a hydrating toner like rose water all over the skin.
  5. Pat your face dry and moisturize. Use a hydrating moisturizer to lock moisture into the skin.
